Physio to Irish U18 Men's Basketball Team

I have just returned from the U18 Basketball European Championships in Skopje, Macedonia having been team Physiotherapist for the Irish Men’s U18 team. Two years ago Basketball Ireland asked me to fill this role, It was of course an honour to represent my Country and profession. The role was even more special as last December my son made the final 12 and would be going to Skopje as a player.

The preparation for the Championships were extensive we will played a number of warm up tournaments in Scotland, Luxembourg, Cherbourg in France and Portugal. There were also training session most weekends when schools were on holiday. The Team come from all over the Country, Galway, Cork, Dublin, Sligo etc. I have known many of these lads since I was taller than them, well maybe not that long!! They were a great group of lads and were a credit to their country.
